Most memorable moments of my life

(Some of them may look like normal stuff to others, but these are the moments I cherish. they made me most happy, and they still make me happy)

And note that these exclude the default ones like, clearing exams, getting job, birthdays, promotions, engagement, marriage, news of becoming father, holding my baby for first time etc.

·         When I was in school (8th std), a class mate of me told to another classmate that “don’t challenge him with anything, He can do anything”. On another occasion I heard them talking “Even without studying, he scores so much, what if starts studying” – this brought about a turning point in my life… I DID start studying after that, and the rest is history J… I am so very much thankful of their conversation.

·         Some very memorable moments playing cricket(@home, @school and other grounds) –

o   Amazing diving catches,

o   Some wonderful drives (and on one occasion, I replayed the same drive back to back, which on both occasion went through the legs of the fielder :D)

o   A memorable pull shot

o   A number of superb spin deliveries

·         On the first day in my college, while returning back in bus, my seniors were calling me “Hero”, for reasons which happened during the day.

·         One day at NIIT, when the girl I was in secret crush with waved hands at me, spotting me far away, while talking with her teacher. (She was not my batch, and her timing was quite different from mine).

·         All the times when the couple of chicken we had raised into fully grown cocks, ran and came into my hands as soon as they saw me at a distance

·         When one of my colleague fought (verbally) with Asst. Commissioner, because he referred to me as “novice”, when I was demoing the application that I had built, at Chennai Customs office. He did not have any part in the application, nor did we have any friendship. He was there just because it was being demoed from his machine. I didn’t even knew what it meant at that time. I got a feel of it only by his reaction, and later went back home and checked the meaning :D

·         My last weekend in Bangalore (8 yrs back), when I was departing a good friend of mine, she came really very close to me physically (probably, she was expecting a goodbye hug or a kiss), but I was too naïve and innocent to understand that, and all I ended up doing was “Cough” :D.

·         When in my previous company, and I was about to go on a 4-5 day leave for attending my exams, one of my closest friend, came running up around my desk. She did act like she was there for some other reason, and met me by accident. But you know it.

·         Once in Mumbai when I was having lunch alone, another girl that I had a secret crush on, came upto me and talked a lot with me… it was more like an interview.. We had never met or talked before. I had just seen her a couple of times.

·         When I sponsored a costly dinner for the first time. It was 3 of us (Me, my colleague and my manager) in Mumbai. And a couple of occasions when this manager had praised my free spiritedness.

·         A number of moments in Thailand, where the colleagues and generally most people showed a lot of respect and helped in all possible ways.

·         When I took off my vests, ran and got on top of a huge rock, and stretched my arms wide open, in heavy rain, in front of a waterfall, in the middle of nowhere, during our Brisbane to Cairns road trip.

·         A number of memorable moments with a bunch of very good friends in and around Brisbane.

·         Extracurricular:

o   Completing 14 Kms in a marathon

o   My solo sky dive

o   Participating in flash mob

-But on none of these occasions, I had anybody around to share a hug L - so these would feature in both feel good and feel bad lists.

·         Dance related

o   When my dance teacher appreciated me during my first ever dance class. It may have been just a formality, but it had a big impact J

o   When another dance student talked me into and encouraged me to join for social dancing, after the class had completed and I was trying to hide away.

o   When a couple of girls (my dance class mates cum friends) hugged me during my birthday celebration at dance class. I hadn’t expected it. Those are the only ever hugs that I have got aside from family members.

·         Celebrating Christmas eve with a couple of Danish bros in Melbourne. They were missing their family a lot. So cooked chicken for them, bought cake and showed them around the Christmas celebration arrangements in the city at night.

·         When a girl (who I had met just 1 night back and talked with, for maybe an hour or so only), woke up early next morning to say me good bye, and stood outside waving her hands till my van left. This was when I was on a road-trip in Tasmania.
